Uzoma Dozie Chairman Mr. Dozie graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Reading, Berkshire England. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical Research from University College, London in 1992 and an MBA from Imperial College Management School, London in 1998.
Mr. Dozie started his banking career in the Commercial Banking Unit at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc where he worked for some years and later moved to Citizens International Bank Limited where he worked in the Oil and Gas Division. In 1998, he joined Diamond Bank Limited as an Assistant Manager and Head of the Bank’s Oil and Gas Unit. An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he has also attended various specialist and executive development courses in Nigeria and overseas.
In 2000, Mr. Dozie became Diamond Bank’s Financial Controller a position he held till April 2004 when he was appointed Head, Personal Banking, overseeing the Bank’s entire retail banking arm. In July 2004, he was deployed on attachment to Africa’s largest bank, the Amalgamated Bank of South Africa, (ABSA), where he was exposed to the latest trends in retail Banking. On his return, he was elevated to Executive Director, Personal Banking, a position he holds to date.
Following the acquisition of Diamond Mortgages limited, he was appointed to the Board of DML in May 2006. Mr. Dozie serves on the Board of several other reputable companies. [back to top] Adekunle Faleti Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Mr. Faleti is a career Mortgage Banker and has a total of 20 years experience in the real estate finance / mortgage banking sector covering credit risk management, underwriting, processing, audit and compliance management, secondary marketing, post closing, client relationship management and product development.
He holds a HND (Upper Credit) from Yaba College of Technology and Executive Education Program (International Housing Finance and Securitization) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In addition he has several international professional certifications mortgage processing, mortgage underwriting, fair lending and real estate appraisal underwriting.
He has worked with UBA Plc as Group Head, Mortgages. Prior to this, he was a Senior Loan Processor, Supervisor and later Assistant Vice President in charge of Retail Mortgage Processing at Chevy Chase Bank in Maryland, USA. Mr. Kunle has also worked as Loan Processor and later Senior Loan Processor at Wachovia Bank, Maryland, USA. Nominated for Mortgage Banker of the year 2008 (Africa) by IPC Communications at the African Banker of the Year awards. (UBA Mortgages) He is married with children Oladele Akinyemi Director Mr. Akinyemi first joined Diamond Bank from former Lead Merchant Bank in 1991 as head of Systems Unit. He later headed the Commercial & Consumer Banking and the Retail Banking units of the Bank before leaving for UBA in 1997.
He left UBA after a stint as Head of Retail Banking, Consumer Banking Division for One-to-One Nigeria Limited as executive director and whilst he was there, built the first database marketing service company in Nigeria as well as pioneered Lease` Rental business in Nigeria. He then joined Citibank Nigeria in 1999 as Head of Cards, Cash Management and e-Solutions Group.
He rejoined Diamond Bank in 2002 as Head of the Information Technology Group. A holder of the University of Lagos B.Sc. in Computer Science, Dele also holds an MBA obtained from International Graduate School of Management, IESE University of Navarra, Madrid, Spain. He has attended various leadership and IT courses in Ireland, UK, India and South Africa and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
[back to top] Simon Stockley Director Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Industrial Psychology in 1983; and Bachelor of Law degree in 1985 respectively from University of Natal, Durban, Simon Stockley, after serving articles of clerkship, left the profession to pursue an independent career in property development and marketing, establishing and managing the Townhouse Group of Companies over a ten-year period.
In 1998 he began researching alternative funding mechanisms for the South African mortgage market and in January 1999, in association with venture capitalists, established South African Homeloans, South Africa’s first discount home loan specialist and non-bank mortgage lender. He was appointed the company’s first Chief Executive Officer in 2000, a position he held until his resignation in October 2004. Simon was instrumental in raising initial venture capital required in order to establish the enterprise and subsequently negotiated equity participation in the company with The International Finance Corporation, JP Morgan and Standard Bank. In 2001, Simon lead the first ever Securitization of RMBS outside of USA, UK, and Australia.
Simon has received numerous awards in recognition of his management and, marketing expertise, including The Institute of Marketing Managers’ KwaZulu Natal Marketing Man of the Year Award and The British Airways/Natal Mercury Business Excellence Award. Simon was a member of Advisory Committee to Registrar of Banks of Redrafting of Securitization Regulations from 1999 to 2002.
In March 2007, Simon merged his investment and advisory activities under Catalis (Pty) Ltd, through which entity he now consults to a wide range of both national and international clients. Catalis has recently acquired a private equity stake in Integer, a mortgage start-up operation in Cape Town, where Simon is currently deployed as CEO, responsible for launching the company.
In addition to Simon’s executive responsibilities he acts as Non–Executive Chairman to a specialist mortgage finance company in Ghana, Ghana Home Loans; Rasameel UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. [back to top] Nkechi Nwosu Company Secretary/Legal Adviser A law graduate of the Southampton University, England, Nkechi joined Diamond Bank in April, 2001, as Company Secretary and Head of its legal unit.
She has over 11 years banking industry experience garnered at International Trust Bank Plc, where she was Group Head of its Corporate Management Services, and at Liberty Bank where at various times she headed the Consumer banking, loan workout and administration/personnel units. She was deeply involved in the restructuring of Gamji Bank (now International Trust Bank). Before joining the banking industry, Nkechi was in private law practice for about eight years.
She has attended several professional courses in Nigeria and abroad and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, England.
As the Company Secretary of the parent company, Nkechi also serves as the Company Secretary of Diamond Mortgages Limited.
