Engineer Michael I. Ufoeze - Chairman

An accomplished Civil Engineer with extensive experience spanning over 35 years in project design and supervision, Engr. Ufoeze has made outstanding contributions in various strategic civil engineering projects throughout the Federation, and has executed a number of studies in the areas of Water Supply, Sanitation and Environmental Engineering. He acquired international professional working experience with reputable firms in Denmark, United States and the United Kingdom.

He is a Fellow and Associate Member of many international engineering associations and a Civil Engineering graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Engineer Ufoeze has wide Board experience having been appoint into the Board of Dominium Building Society Ltd since 1998 and was reappointed in to the newly constituted Board of Diamond mortgages Ltd in May 2006 following its take over by Diamond Bank Plc.

Charles Nkata - Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nkata started his banking career in Progress Bank, later Chartered Bank and Regal Savings and Loans Ltd where he was exposed to Equipment Leasing, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Mortgage Banking.

He joined Hallmark Bank in 1994 and worked in key functional areas of Credit and Marketing, Operations and Public Sector banking among others. As Managing Director of Abia Palm Nigerian Limited (on special assignment from the Bank) he was responsible for the strategic turn around of the company.

He was Divisional Head, Public Sector in Hallmark Bank until he joined Diamond Bank in 2006 also as Divisional Head, Public Sector, Abuja, a position he held until his appointment as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Mortgages Limited.

He has attended various training programs in Banking, Credit and Marketing, Relationship Management, etc locally and offshore, including an offshore attachment program with Commerz Bank AG, Frankfurt, Germany. His qualifications include:

• University of Nigeria, B.Sc in Political Science
• University of Benin, MBA
• Member, Nigerian Institute of Management.

Mazi Clement I. Owunna, MFR - Director

An accomplished pharmacist and businessman, Mazi Owunna is a graduate of the Drake College of Pharmacy, Iowa, United States. Some of Mazi Owunna’s career milestones include the following:

• Alumnus, Harvard Business School, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and North Western University.
• Chairman, several successful companies spanning pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, commerce, real estate, food and chemicals.
• Member, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
• Member, Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria.
• Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management.
• Recipient, National Award of Member of the Federal Republic (“MFR”).
He was appointed into the Board of Diamond Mortgages Ltd in May 2006, following Diamond Bank’s acquisition of the outfit. He has extensive Board experience.

Emeka Onwuka - Director

Prior to joining Diamond Bank, Emeka worked with Arthur Andersen and Co., where he was exposed to both local and offshore training in accounting and management consulting for the finance as well as oil and gas industries. Emeka joined the Bank in 1992, and has worked in the key areas of corporate and investment banking, branch banking, treasury and commercial banking, among others. He was Head of the Bank’s Commercial Banking Division before his appointment as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. Below are some of his accomplishments:

• University of Nigeria, B.Sc. in Political Science.
• University of Benin, MBA.
• Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
He joined the Board of Diamond Mortgages Ltd in May, 2006 following Diamond Bank’s purchase of the company. Mr. Onwuka has wide Board experience.

Uzoma Dozie - Director

Mr. Dozie graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Reading, Berkshire England. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical Research from University College, London in 1992 and an MBA from Imperial College Management School, London in 1998.

Mr. Dozie started his banking career in the Commercial Banking Unit at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc where he worked for some years and later moved to Citizens International Bank Limited where he worked in the Oil and Gas Division. In 1998, he joined Diamond Bank Limited as an Assistant Manager and Head of the Bank’s Oil and Gas Unit. An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he has also attended various specialist and executive development courses in Nigeria and overseas.

In 2000, Mr. Dozie became Diamond Bank’s Financial Controller a position he held till April 2004 when he was appointed Head, Personal Banking, overseeing the Bank’s entire retail banking arm. In July 2004, he was deployed on attachment to Africa’s largest bank, the Amalgamated Bank of South Africa, (ABSA), where he was exposed to the latest trends in retail Banking. On his return, he was elevated to Executive Director, Personal Banking, a position he holds to date.

Following the acquisition of Diamond Mortgages limited, he was appointed to the Board of DML in May 2006. Mr. Dozie serves in the Board of several other reputable companies.

Godfrey Justin Amadi - Director

Mr. Amadi, an accomplished and seasoned company administrator and manager acquired very wide management experience having worked in Unipetrol Nigeria Plc in top management level till he retired in 1991 as an Executive Director, Finance and Administration.

Since his retirement from the services of Unipetrol Nigeria Limited, he became the Group Coordinator of Afro International enterprises Limited and Hagville Limited (subsidiaries of Breezevale services London, 1991- 2004; chairman / CEO, Petroleum Finance Co. Africa (Nig.) Ltd from 1995 – 2004.

Presently, Mr. G.J. Amadi the Marketing adviser, Integrated Power Technologies Ltd.

He has been on the Board of Dominium Building Society Ltd since 1998 and was reappointed into the newly constituted Board of Diamond mortgages Ltd in May 2006 following its take over by Diamond Bank Plc.

Chief Ephraim Fagba Faloughi, OON - Director

Chief Faloughi is an accomplished industrialist who has made tremendous contribution in the development of commerce and industry in Nigeria. He has held various Board appointments in several companies including insurance, banking, newspaper publishing, telecommunications and manufacturing concerns. He is the chairman and founder of NTCN Carpets limited and chairman of Sovereign Trust Insurance Company Limited. He holds the National merit honour of the Order of the Niger (OON)
He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Diamond Mortgages Limited in July 2006.

Nkechi Nwosu - Company Secretary/Legal Adviser

A law graduate of the Southampton University, England, Nkechi joined Diamond Bank in April, 2001, as Company Secretary and Head of its legal unit.

She has over 11 years banking industry experience garnered at International Trust Bank Plc, where she was Group Head of its Corporate Management Services, and at Liberty Bank where at various times she headed the Consumer banking, loan workout and administration/personnel units. She was deeply involved in the restructuring of Gamji Bank (now International Trust Bank). Before joining the banking industry, Nkechi was in private law practice for about eight years.

She has attended several professional courses in Nigeria and abroad and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, England.
As the Company Secretary of the parent company, Nkechi also serves as the Company Secretary of Diamond Mortgages Limited.
